Our Story
Renn Scott founded Daily Goods Design Labs (DGDL) 2014, out of a need for thoughtfully designed products focused on mobile experiences. She particularly wanted to help women maximize their abilities through stylish and fashionable wearable tech.
From the start, DGDL’s method of working has been ‘co-creative’ - meaning that both end-consumers and industry experts are part of the design process. Using this process showed us how design, fashion and technology play an important role in enabling and empowering others, especially women.
As the company evolved we began attracting clients interested in our unique approach and way of working. From initial concept to final implementation, we help clients define, ideate and work through the challenges they want to solve with a co-creative approach meaning the process includes them, their end users and industry experts. We prototype and test new ideas, discovering through research what works - and why - for the people that will use the things we create.
DGDL is increasingly recognized for the larger scope of work and unique projects that we are working on. We no longer just create products. Since May 2016 we have created our Collective arm to educate and enable by sharing trends, insights and tools with women and youth interested in integrating design and technology.
Our team is growing because we want to re-balance the fact that women are far less employed in our fields than their male counterparts. The Collective does community outreach and collaborations, as well as enhancing the core team by contributing a wide array of capabilities.
