In recognition of International Women’s Day on March 9, 2020, the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology hosted “Women in Leadership: Creating a Vision for an Automated World”. The event was coordinated by Professor Maryam Davoudpour, Chair IEEE Women in Engineering Toronto Section, and Adriana Ieraci, CEO and Founder of Conveyor Built, Founder of the GYBO Robotics Network and Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto.
The event included presentations, and workshops facilitated by women such as our own founder Renn Scott. Renn’s presentation and workshop focused on Women’s Safety in the city inspired with the statement: How might we design wearable technologies for women so they feel safe when they travel from home to work, and back again, moving throughout the city at any time of day, and in all weather?
